Main Street Bridge Over Reedy River

TOP: Post card view of Reedy River as it flows toward the falls, from the Main Street bridge. One cent postage dated Aug. 31, 1923. Unknown when the photo itself was taken. Back of the post card carries the following message:

To: Christie, Owings Mills MD. August 31st, We are all thinking of you and hope you are having a happy birthday. Much love and many kisses from your Mother Daddy sis and brothers. --Joe.

Apparently the card was mailed to Maryland, received there and brought back to Greenville with belongings. The post card is very dark and sooty from over seven decades of storage.

BOTTOM: Post card view of Reedy River as it flows under the Main Street bridge. One cent postage dated Sep., 1923. Unknown when the photo itself was taken. Unfortunately, upper left of card has an old spill of some sort.

Looking closely you can see a horse and flat-bed wagon and an automobile turning off Main Street, just above the water.
