The Poinsett Hotel

Top Photo: The "old" Poinsett. From South Main Street, looking north. Ground breaking for the Poinsett Hotel was May 30, 1924. The Poinsett cost $1.5 million and opened one hundred rooms in June 1925. The renovation and restoration was $20 million in the year 2000. This photo was taken early in the process of restoration for reopening in October 2000.
