Greenville County Museum of Art
420 College Street
Greenville SC 29601
(864) 271-7570

Mostly hidden by great oaks in this photo, the Greenville County Museum of Art boasts an unequaled collection of Southern painting, an outstanding collection of contemporary American art, and four floors of exhibition space in a large, modern building.

Beginning with colonial portraiture from the early 1700s, the collection contains at least one example from every major movement in American art.

The permanent collection is complemented by over fifteen changing exhibitions each year. Some exhibitions focus on an important artist or period in art history, while others feature the work of the most original contemporary artists.
