Very cool gas station on South Main Street

This wonderfully odd gas station on South Main Street was located next to The Greenville News building and across the street from where The Peace Center Gunter Theatre now stands. The gas station was demolished during in the 1980's to make way for something more interesting, no doubt. (Demolition date correction welcome).

The coned roof features were over the restrooms. Early on, if not originally, this was the Buck-Rawlings Tire Company and Sinclair fuel was sold. For a better photo of this station during its time, buy the book Remembering Greenville, Photographs from the Coxe Collection, by Jeffrey R. Willis and The Greenville County Historical Society.
