Berean Class Band, Brandon Mill Baptist Church, circa 1935

(The drummer from previous page is at far right)
This photograph was found in Brandon Baptist Church archives. At this time, nothing is known about the photograph and people in the group. Those cars look like
Ford Phaetons (about 1928 models). The photo, which is approximately 36 inches wide, is much too large to display here, but a few interesting-looking band members have been selected and their faces are posted below for your amusement.

This church was in the Brandon Mill community. Greenville's Shoeless Joe Jackson Memorial Ballpark is near the location of this photograph. Jackson played for the Brandon Mill team.
These days, the building of the former Brandon Mill community store is home to The ArtBomb, a group of professional artists' studios.
