What is it?

Greenville Art News, in its sixth year, is a FREE email subscription about the Greenville area art community, maintained by a professional Greenville art studio. Email messages are brief reminders and announcements of interest to Greenville artists and patrons and anyone else who wants to follow our art news.

Messages focus on activity within the Greenville art community, specifically involving 2-D and 3-D art: exhibitions, receptions, open studios, and other news related to drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics, other fine craft, and area artists.

You will get no emails advertising entertainment events that have nothing to do with art.

Who should be interested?

Artists, collectors, gallery owners, museum staff, architects, interior designers -- anyone seriously interested in following Greenville art news via the ease of email.

This is a great backup system for keeping track of newspaper listings and traditional gallery post card mail.

Who is on the list?

This has been growing for six years, there are hundreds of recipients, and it grows daily. For privacy reasons, names of subscribers can't be listed, but those already on the list include:

Artists, collectors, gallery owners, museum staff, museum directors, arts council and arts commission staff, art historians, architects, interior designers and other serious art patrons. The reach goes beyond Greenville with local, state, regional and national recipients.

It's professionally managed and it's free.

Simply CLICK letters@greenvillesouth.com to send an email and ask to be added to "the Art Email List" in the subject line and let me know your name.

Strict email privacy assured

Since this list is entirely owned and maintained by one person, your email is never sold or given to anyone for any reason and messages never include images or other attachments. Content is "text only" and all messages are mailed Blind Carbon Copy (Bcc) so that no one will see your e-mail address.

Collector Privacy

As a collector subscribing to this news, you have a way to follow news about Greenville’s serious artists and their work without being identified as a collector. You avoid solicitations from numbers of individual artists you may have no interest in. Your name as a subscriber is never mentioned to anyone. Confidentiality is of paramount importance.

Art news and press releases are submitted to this Web site and in turn that information is delivered to you. You learn about various artist and gallery functions, but you receive it privately from a single source.

Why this is important

Unless you make a personal effort to join multiple organizations or search all media frequently -- monthly, weekly and daily -- you get only a fraction of the information that’s actually available. This subscription brings you art news from diverse resources, all well selected and edited to a brief that's easy to read quickly.

For everyone, this email list removes multiple membership requirements and brings local and regional art news to your personal computer. It's about strengthening Greenville's art presence in the region through better association and communication.

Artists and galleries receive added reach for announcing achievements, open studios, exhibitions, studio production news and so on.

This art news subscription doesn't compete with the special benefits that arts organizations provide, it helps multiply their publicity. This art news goes out “across organizational borders.”
