Artist Statement:
I am a painter, mainly concentrating on the figure. The human figure allows me to explore the full range of my creative expression.
I can find rhythmic line in the movement of body gesture, shapes in body contours, and composition with the figure in relationship to the environment and other figures. Perhaps what attracts me the most are the emotions naturally present when working with people. The pose, expression, attitude, situation suggests a story or poignant moment in time that stimulates my imagination. Vivid color and strong lights and darks help create the mood.
