Artist Statement:
I shift between degrees of abstraction and the representational using landscapes as a general foundation. Landscape boundaries are blurred by passage of time, weather, economic development and construction. This is only superficially covered over by man via architecture, or by nature through regrowth and other forces. The idea that beneath this surface lies all that came before us, and that we trespass over that, is what interests me.

Looking at contemporary art other than my own, I am concerned with an artist’s commitment to his or her work and to the production of a body of works as a way of life. That is what I offer in my works.
