Artist Statement: My work is about a continual exploration of ceramic form as expressed by swelling contours, planar juxtapositions and exploring lines. Used in combination with a palette of layered color, applied shapes, markmaking and familiar natural forms, each piece is approached as a totality--form and surface which attempt a visual statement expressing my concerns toward
an integrated harmonious whole.

Expressed in these pieces as well is my fascination with the physical act of making vessels with clay and the entire process involved in using fire to fix and make shiny hard this plastic material. These works also embody my attraction to ancient Minoan, Greek, and Etruscan pottery and as well as my fascination with Chinese and Japanese pots.
