Artist Statement:
I’ve always been inspired by the impressionist painters and their ability to capture the purity of light and color in their paintings. In my paintings I attempt to take ordinary scenes and capture the impressions and textures of light and color. I spend most of my time with oils because I like the fluidity and versatility of the medium, but I am challenged by the spontaneity and transparency of painting in watercolor.
